Raw Caramel Sauce

Okay so just a pre-emptive warning for all you readers out there... This caramel sauce is literally addictive. Your lives will never be the same after trying it, I double pinky promise. That being said, you're probably like 'oh caramel sauce... creating such gooey, sticky deliciousness must be a tough process!' - I'm happy to tell you that you are totally and completely wrong! This simple sauce recipe can literally be whipped up in mere seconds for instant enjoyment. You can also add a sprinkling of pink sea salt at the end of this recipe for a salted caramel style sauce.

So, what you need:

  • 1/2 cup pitted medjool dates, soaked in warm water until nice and squishy
  • warm water
That's literally all!

what to do:
  1. Firstly, soak the medjool dates until they are nice and squishy.
  2. Drain the dates from the liquid they were soaking in.
  3. Mash the dates up until they form a bit of a combined glob, then add in warm water in small increments (start with about 2 tsp) and stir thoroughly. Continue this until the dates dissolve and your sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Allow to cool then devour with anything (fresh fruit works well), or do as I do sometimes, and merely grab a spoon and tuck in!
Note: for a more 'dip' like caramel sauce, add less water. For a more 'drizzle-able' caramel sauce, add more water. It could truly not be any simpler!
